Today we are pleased to announce the release of a major revision of our mobile application for iOS. Geoforce sees nearly as many mobile users as it does traditional web users, and we’ve taken the combined feedback from the field and made our product better.
First, we’ve completely re-worked the map. Most of our customers have hundreds or even thousands of pieces of field equipment deployed, which makes creating a useful map a challenge. The new mobile application clusters assets together, making it easier to understand what is in the field and in what quantity. Additionally, the map symbols are more user-friendly and selected assets are clearly called out on the map, contrasting with the assets around it.
The most requested feature for our mobile application was the ability to see additional details about assets in the field, and when it came to redesign, we listened. Once an asset is selected, swipe up on the summary information to reveal full details about the asset, similar to the asset detail page in our web application. Customers in the field can now quickly see location details, check engine runtimes, and view vehicle mileage.
Another commonly requested feature was the ability to get driving directions to assets deployed internationally. Now our customers in Canada, Brazil, and Australia will get the same features as those using it in the US.
In the coming months, our customers can also expect a version of our mobile application available for the Android platform. We’ve been building up our software team by adding expertise on the popular mobile platforms, and in the coming months anticipate an explosion of use of our mobile product offering from many different devices.
