Geoforce introduces Iridum-based solar-powered asset tracking to its suite of solutions

“There is nothing permanent except change.”

   –   Greek philosopher, Heraclitus

One of the most amazing things about living in our times is the constant change happening with technology on a seemingly daily basis. Knowing this is why Geoforce continuously makes heavy investments in research and development, new product introductions, and other initiatives that drive innovation.

Our customers expect us to see technology changes coming and have solutions ready when the changes arrive. Thus, whether it’s the new wireless networks or the first wave of the much-vaunted Industrial Internet of Things (I-IoT), we’ll help you adapt as quickly as possible.

In 2018, we’ve already launched the Geotab GO8: Advanced Vehicle Tracker for AT&T LTE networks, and will soon introduce updated versions of products that work with Verizon’s LTE network as well.

Even more significantly, we’ve also expanded our satellite tracking capabilities with the AssetPack-3 (or AP3), our first satellite asset tracker that operates on the Iridium satellite constellation. Iridium improves access to extremely remote areas such as West Africa and mid-ocean shipping lanes. This network also provides licensing support to operate “pole to pole” with expanding international type acceptance happening rapidly.

The AP3 is a global satellite tracker that is completely enclosed, self-contained, waterproof, and dustproof, enabling monitoring of any fixed or mobile asset on the ground, at sea, and in hazardous environments.

Oh, and the AP3 has solar powered battery charging, which enables high rate reporting without the need to replace batteries.

With the AP3, we provide either eight-times-a-day fixed reporting or twice-a-day event-based reporting, with additional location reports whenever the AP3 starts moving or stops moving. All data can be managed in the Geoforce Track and Trace field asset management software platform that you already know and use.

Read more about the AP3 here. And contact us when you’re ready to bring Iridium-based solar powered asset tracking to your Geoforce application. Change may be a constant, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t ready for it!
