Ponder Environmental Reduces Invoice Processing Time by 99 Percent While Becoming More Responsive, Safer, and Connected with Geoforce

Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…
We’ve tracked a lot of stuff for a lot of people in a lot of countries through the years. That certainly makes us proud of what we’ve done. But what are we most proud of in Geoforce tracking history? We asked our team:
Helping in a time of need…
One of the most rewarding ways we’ve seen our GPS tracking devices used has been during times of urgent need. Our President & CEO, James MacLean, said his proudest moment was when Geoforce was deployed in matter of days to help track equipment and supplies being shipped to Puerto Rico for Hurricane Maria relief efforts. Read more about this in our 2017 blog.
Sailing the seven seas…
One of our Senior Product Managers, Jay Karlson, monitored the progress of Sailing on a Dream, a 2-meter unmanned sailboat riding the currents of the Indian Ocean. Equipped with a GPS tracking device and using the Track and Trace online software platform, the Dream launched into the Cape of Good Hope on July 18, 2019. Read more about this fun project on our series of blogs from September 2019, November 2019, December 6, 2019, and December 10, 2019.
Flying to space…
One of the most unique stories was from Henry Rosen, our VP of Business Development. He said his proudest moment was when a Pennsylvania high school class used our GT0 Compact Asset Tracker to track a weather balloon launched to conduct an experiment. The goal was to use a GoPro camera to record video of the curvature of the Earth from 120,000 feet high. The challenge Geoforce was supposed to help solve was to then FIND the balloon once it returned to Earth. Our GT0 did its job perfectly, locating the balloon in a tree in Delaware some 200 miles from the launch site. Not only did Henry enjoy seeing one of our tracking devices being used in such a fun way, but the views from space were amazing! Read more about the flying GT0 in our 2013 blog.
Swimming in the Gulf…
It’s also incredibly fulfilling to witness the durability of our devices. Gary Naden, our CTO, says his proudest moment was when a customer used Geoforce to track buoys in the Gulf of Mexico and later retrieved a buoy that had inadvertently sunk. Our GT1 Global Asset Tracker was barnacle-encrusted but still affixed to the buoy. More amazingly, even after spending 96 days at the bottom of the Gulf, the GT1 started working again like nothing had ever happened! Read more about the “energizer bunny” GT1 in our 2017 blog.
Enhancing driver safety…
The proudest moment for our VP of Customer Operations, Vinnie McNulty, was when Geoforce was used to understand circumstances surrounding a vehicular accident. Because of our GPS tracking solution, our customer was able to corroborate their driver’s statements and fix an issue. We love seeing our solutions make our customers lives easier and, most importantly, SAFER!
Recovering stolen assets…
Ryan Robertson, one of our Sales Managers in West Texas, said his proudest moment was when our GPS tracking application led police to a criminal who stole a Geoforce customer’s truck. The customer was on the phone with the police while using our Track and Trace software application to guide officers directly to the location of the stolen truck.
Another time, a stolen dozer, which turned out to be one of many, many other stolen pieces of equipment in a large chop shop, was recovered thanks to Geoforce. Eric Jenssen, our Sales Manager for the West Coast, explained our solution has helped multiple Californian companies get back their lost equipment.
Roopa Misra, our EVP of Global Business Development, shared a story about a time Geoforce snuck into neighborly conversation. She ran into one of her neighbors who noticed her Geoforce ball cap. He told her our solution helped him find a stolen asset and alert the police of its location!
Stopping fraudulent activity…
Our General Manager for Asia-Pacific, Tim Lapham, says his proudest moment was when Geoforce was used to stop a customer’s waste bins from being used by fraudulent delivery drivers who were renting them to friends to earn money while they were not on hire.
Scaling from Brazil to the US…
Andre Chaboudet, our Sales Manager in Brazil, said he was proud to see Geoforce used to improve the operations of a large multinational container rental company in Brazil. The result was so positive, the company’s management allowed the service to be replicated for their operations in the United States.
Remembering our first…
Lastly, you always remember your first. So Vincent Hsieh, our CFO, says his proudest moment is actually a bunch of moments he gets to enjoy every day at our office – walking past our very first customer check from B&R Equipment in Keller, Texas, and knowing that 11 years later, they’re still a customer!
That’s a lot to be proud of for sure. You can read even more fun stories via our case studies. Or better yet, contact us now so we can talk directly about how we can get your story added to this list!
