Employee Spotlight – Sandra Meekins

This month our Marketing team decided to spotlight, well, our Marketing team! Find out more about Sandra Meekins, our lovable super mom, super WordPresser, and super hugger.

Jay: How long have you been at Geoforce?

Sandra: I’ve been 5 feet 5 inches long the entire time I’ve been at Geoforce. Oh wait, perhaps you meant how much time. I’ve been here for a little over a year.

Jay: What do you do?

Sandra: I am happy to say that I am living my dream. I am the Marketing Communications Manager which means I have the privilege of working with a lot of departments. I help create collateral with our product teams to support our sales teams. I also coordinate the logistics of exhibiting at trade shows, conferences, and the occasional customer event. I also manage our website, social media, and search engine activities, and ensure we always have tools to arm our sales team so they can secure more valued customers. I wear different hats to help support anyone that needs marketing materials and to promote our brand.

Jay: What are your hobbies outside of work?

Sandra: I am a crafter at heart. I enjoy sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and anything else that will allow me to go to Joann Fabrics or Michael’s. But most of all, I love spending time with my sons and husband helping coach whatever sport they are playing. I’m really the snack provider, but they promoted me to assistant coach to make me feel good.

Jay: What is your favorite attribute of Geoforce and why?

Sandra: I love the people I get to work with and the Core Values we believe in as a company. My favorite is “Do Right”, especially during the unprecedented times we are living with Coronavirus. Our people have integrity and do whatever we have to do to continue to provide the best customer service and support to our customers, even if it’s from our home offices.

Jay: What have you gained from working at Geoforce?

Sandra: I’ve gained a new work family that I love dearly. I really mean that and you can ask everyone how I love to hug people and show my appreciation for what they do for our company and just for being awesome people. I’ve also learned a ton about a new industry and how to work in WordPress. I don’t find WordPress evil anymore…well, not as often.

Jay: When the quarantine is lifted, where’s the first crowded place you’ll go?

Sandra: Church. I really miss going to church every Sunday. Then, maybe a concert with my friends, but dinner first!

Jay: Quarantining is hard.  How do you like working remotely?

Sandra: The hardest part of quarantining has been to juggle working with homeschooling my 2 sons. But we’ve adjusted and the process is a little better each day. They’ve both learned that when momma is on a call, they have to be quiet or no video games…haha! I do believe a lot of good will come from this time at home and we will all learn to not take things for granted and value what’s truly important in life.
