Employee Spotlight – Louis Lockhart

 Q: What is your name and position?

 A: Louis Lockhart – Logistics Manager

Q: How long have you been with Geoforce?

A: Just over 2 years.

Q: Can you explain your job at Geoforce?

A: I manage our global logistics department. Simply put, our team’s primary job is to maintain and issue stock. Like all simple things there is a lot more to it than shipping boxes or ordering coffee. Logistics covers everything from purchasing all the necessary components and accessories for our globally certified GPS tracking devices, to programming, testing, and provisioning our devices and software systems, to working directly with our contract manufacturers in Mexico and other vendors around the globe to manage schedules and ensure we can deliver a world class experience to our customers. It also involves customs clearance (we are deployed in over 70 countries after all!), and even customer support and helping to trouble shoot system and device issues. It’s a job of many hats and even more challenges.

Q: What do your hobbies include?

A: Music first and foremost. I play guitar and bass to a degree. I also spend a lot of time listening to music and attending quite a few concerts and music festivals. I love to read, mostly science fiction – fantasy genre – but a good mystery or biographical novel will do too. Being an early child of the digital age, movies (I have several hundred) and video games (PS4, Xbox one, computer) still keep me entertained.

Q: If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?

A: The ability to suspend/alter time around me. Think of the fun, the good being no more traffic or waiting in lines. If it’s a special day it could last and last. Having a bad day, no worries…move on to the next day! Other than being able to fly or teleport, invisibility rounds out my wish list.

Q: What is your favorite thing about Geoforce?

A: First off, the people here. We have an outstanding, diverse group of highly motivated, committed (in a good way) exceptionally talented, honestly good people. I enjoy the people I work with and I know I can learn from them daily. Then there is the knowledge that we all have the ability to actually make a change in the daily operations of Geoforce, meaning we are actively listened to and not just dismissed or talked down to. Lastly, the same things that drives me crazy, I enjoy the most. It’s NEVER a dull day, always a new challenge.
