Employee Spotlight – Kerry Atherton

Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…

Kerry doing one of his favorite things – fly fishing!

This month we shine the spotlight on our always smiling, customer success directing, great outdoorsman from Colorado – Kerry Atherton!

Sandra: How long have you been working with Geoforce?

Kerry: 1 year ago—I joined as part of Geoforce’s acquisition of Cartasite.

Sandra: What do you do?

Kerry: I lead a team of talented Customer Success Managers who make sure our 1,300+ customers around the world are getting the most out of their investment in Geoforce products. We take a proactive approach to understand how Geoforce can support their goals and help them reach desired business outcomes like operational efficiency, higher asset utilization, and safer drivers.

Sandra: What are your hobbies outside of work?

Kerry: Living in Colorado I’m spoiled with easy access to the outdoors and Rocky Mountains. Depending on the season, you can find me fly fishing, trail running, backcountry skiing, or sitting on a sunny patio.

Sandra: What is your favorite attribute of Geoforce and why?

Kerry: “Seek Simplicity” is one of our Core Values that I appreciate the most and see often. While our product line is robust, we’re always looking to make things less complex, well understood, and easy to use. This ultimately helps provide our customers with a great experience.

Sandra: What is your favorite thing to do or favorite place to travel to during Spring break?

Kerry: It’s been a while since I’ve had a Spring Break, but getting together with a great group of friends, no matter where it is, is always a good time. In Colorado some ski slopes often stay open well into the summer, so spring skiing can be great too.

Sandra: What have you gained from working at Geoforce?

Kerry: An appreciation for modern communication technology tools. Our Customer Success team is spread across multiple offices so we can be strategically located close to our customers. We’ve done well using solid collaboration skills, and using the right tools allows us to work closely together without being co-located.

Sandra: What is something you have always wanted to do but never done?

Kerry: Until recently it was paragliding, but I just had a chance to do that and had a blast. I suppose skydiving is next!
