Employee Spotlight: Christina Chacko

This month we talk to the always bubbly, always learning, always Korean barbecue eating, Christina Chacko.

Dylan: How long have you been with Geoforce?

Christina:  I completed my first  year at the end of July and have loved every bit of it.

Dylan: What do you do at Geoforce?

Christina: I work in Accounts Receivable in the Accounting department, communicating with our 800+ customers regarding their bills and resolving payments, as well as preparing invoices and orders that flow to our customers. Many of the daily duties include interactions with departments such as Customer Operations, Sales and Logistics. This has been a great learning opportunity as exposure to these departmental functions has been beneficial in understanding how to create better efficiency in our processes to improve our delivery and customer service.

Dylan: What are your hobbies?

Christina: I enjoy traveling, fishing, baking, and especially hiking. I am an avid foodie and love eating, as well as trying all types of food, especially Korean barbecue.

Dylan: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

Christina: Night vision. I drive terribly at night (well, really all the time) and would love to be able to differentiate my lamp from a ghost in my room when I turn the lights out.

Dylan: What is your favorite attribute of Geoforce and why?

Christina: Most definitely the culture and friendly feel. Everyone is welcoming, cohesive and encouraging. Geoforce is unlike any company I have ever worked for before. The people here want to help you achieve your goals, whether they fit your current job description or not. There is always a push for learning and keeping a student / learner mentality, which is something I deeply value.

Dylan: What have you gained from working at Geoforce?

Christina: I have gained so much professional experience in the one year I have worked here. The accounting team has been instrumental in giving me so many opportunities to learn so many things, ranging from the many aspects of the different industries we service, to the many career opportunities there are in accounting, finance, and other parts of a business.  Most of all, I have gained a work family, which has in turn given me a more positive work life balance. I couldn’t be more thankful.

Dylan: What is something you have always wanted to do but never done?

Christina: Shark cage diving. This would probably send me to full panic mode, though.
