Geoforce Officially Debuts Revolutionary GT1 Tracker at DUG Canada

– Geoforce, Inc., an international provider of asset management solution s for the oil and gas industry, announced today the widespread commercial availability of its revolutionary GT1 asset tracking device. The GT1’s official debut took place at Hart Energy’s DUG Canada trade show in Calgary, Alberta. The GT1 is a globally certified GPS device that can track field equipment in locations and conditions which previously have been too difficult for other devices to function effectively.

“Having worked across the oil patch, both onshore and offshore and with rental, service and operating companies, we have developed a clear understanding of our customers’ unique needs,” said James MacLean III, Geoforce’s President and CEO. “With that understanding, we’ve purpose-built a device that is a game changer in how assets can be managed in oilfield operations.”

The GT1 is designed with a unique rugged metal housing with hermetically-sealed internal electronics. The small, but rugged, enclosure and intrinsic safety ratings provide durable protection from extreme temperatures, forces and chemicals. By using a built-in accelerometer, shock, vibration and motion can also be detected. The revolutionary combination of RFID and GPS for location and identification, as well as the unique QR coding for mobile scanning of product information, elevates the GT1 above previously available solutions. Several patents and international certifications (IECEX, Anatel, and ATEX) are pending.

“We have been waiting a long time for a device like this,” said Michael Rolston, Operations Manager at Permian Equipment Rentals. “It’s small, it’s incredibly rugged, it will last years without replacement. It’s also surprisingly low cost – given all its features and capabilities.”

Over 300 companies currently use Geoforce’s award winning solutions to manage over 100,000 assets across six continents. The GT1 was previously offered in limited release to several major international service and rental companies beginning in Q4 of 2012. To date, thousands have shipped and are actively tracking oilfield assets around the globe.
