Employee Spotlight – Babak Badkoubeh

Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…

Babak enjoyed a hike and ended up at the summit of Mount Smutwood!

This month we shine the spotlight on our snowboarder, hiker, outdoorsman extraordinaire, and Embedded Software Engineer – Babak Badkoubeh!

Sandra: How long have you been working with Geoforce?

Babak: I joined Geoforce in 2020 through the acquisition of Trakopolis and I was with Trakopolis for 4 years.

Sandra: What do you do at Geoforce?

Babak: I started as an Embedded Software Engineer then took up more software engineering tasks to fill up the gap between hardware and software within the organization. I’m also a data enthusiast who likes turning data into useful information to improve decision making. This made me embark on a data science program during the pandemic and I have recently joined the Data Analytics team as a software engineer so I can potentially put that knowledge into practice.

Sandra: What are your hobbies outside of work?

Babak: Hiking and snowboarding are my top favorite hobbies, but I like all types of outdoor activities such as trail running and climbing.

Sandra: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

Babak: It would be limitless endurance so I could take on more challenges and drive more results.

Sandra: What is your favorite attribute of Geoforce and why?

Babak: Think Big resonated with me very well since my life journey in Canada began with this mindset.

Sandra: What have you gained from working at Geoforce?

Babak: Working at Geoforce made my career path more clear as a young engineer. It helped me ensure my decision on moving toward data science was the right move as it was aligned with the company’s vision.

Sandra: What is your favorite fall season activity?

Babak: I keep exploring mountains and going hiking until the snow season starts. I also like nature photography, especially golden larch trees in the fall.
