Tim Lapham

General Manager, Asia Pacific

Tim started his career in the military, first in the United States and then Australia. Since then he has spent most of his career working within the telecommunications industry focused on mobile applications and tracking technologies. At Geoforce, Tim is responsible for the development and management of Geoforce’s business in Australia and Asia, where he works closely with the Geoforce team in the US, and serves as a Director of the Geoforce (Australia) PTY LTD entity.

Prior to Geoforce, Tim built a successful business in Asia for Securatrak, an Australian company providing vehicle and asset tracking. Based in Vietnam, Tim led the push of the business into countries like Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Prior to working in Asia, Tim led the development of the Machine to Machine (M2M) business and Mobility Partner Program at Telstra, Australia’s largest Telco.

Tim gained most of his experience working in various roles in Telstra focused on mobility solutions and applications. After his initial stint at Telstra, he worked for a start-up company that developed mobile applications for the transport industry, then moved to Linfox Australia and managed the development of their in-vehicle data acquisition strategy, ultimately assuming the role of CIO for Linfox Armaguard.

Tim also spent 4 years in the US Army, and on return to Australia graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon and served overseas as a Troop Commander with the Australian Army. After living in Asia for 5 years, he has managed to pick up conversational Vietnamese and a love for food, travel and different cultures.
