Kristie joined Geoforce in 2015 as General Counsel. In this capacity, she serves as the chief legal officer for global operations and has broad responsibilities for all aspects of the organization’s legal affairs and policies around the world, including those relating to risk management, corporate governance, employee management, and intellectual property protection.
Kristie has broad experience in public company corporate governance and finance activity, having worked for approximately 20 years as in house counsel or as a practicing securities attorney. She began her career in 1997 as a securities attorney, where she spent 13 years in private practice and was promoted to partner while advising organizations with regard to corporate financing and public company governance issues. She further served as the lead administrator for multiple receiverships, including serving as such for the receiver in the world-wide Allen Stanford “Mini Madoff” SEC receivership, which consisted of management and liquidation of over 140 entities affecting 30,000 clients located across 133 countries involving assets located across 15 states and 30 countries.
Subsequently, Kristie left private practice to advise growth-stage, private multinationals as they expanded internationally. Most recently, she served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary for Academic Partnerships, a global provider of cutting-edge online education solutions to public and private not-for-profit universities. Prior to that, she served as General Counsel for USA Shade & Fabric Structures, a vertically-integrated design, manufacturing, and construction company until its sale in 2013.
Kristie received her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration in 1996 from Southern Methodist University and graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1992. In her spare time, she enjoys raising her three young children and attempting to become proficient in the apparent art of sewing.
