Geoforce Celebrates One Year Down Under

Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…

It’s hard to believe, but Geoforce Australia has been operating for just over a year now, and we are very happy to report we’ve had great success at the bottom of the globe. We have an established office, two staff members and one lucky bamboo named “Angus” that was a gift to us from a prominent business owner (Jamie Vine – Liberty Executive Offices). We have all grown together, especially the lucky bamboo, which has grown so much that it now sits proudly in the corner as it’s too big for the desk.

As Australia is geographically isolated, we have great opportunity to complement our customers’ operations in tracking their equipment as we have more wide open spaces than most. Interesting fact – Australia is about the same size as the continental USA. For example, traveling from Sydney to Perth (East Coast to West Coast) is about the same as traveling from New York to Los Angeles. Below is a map of the USA with Australia superimposed on it.

Our award winning Track and Trace software application and solutions have been welcomed by the Australian oil and gas industry with open arms, while our oilfield rugged GPS tracking devices have been installed on:

· Offshore containers and Offshore Cargo Carrying Units (CCU’s)
· Ocean monitoring buoys
· Offshore lifting frames
· Liquid nitrogen tanks (cryogenic tanks)
· Offshore gas racks
· Chemical production tanks

We have also assisted the onshore market with tracking solutions for:

· Mine site vehicles, rental cars, water carts and trucks
· Shipping containers moving refined mining end products
· Mobile plant, lighting towers, bobcats and mine site dewatering containers
· Tracking chemicals and lubricants

Regarding vehicle tracking, here is a quick screen grab of some remote vehicle tracking that we provided to ensure that “hotshot” deliveries were delivered on time whilst the company owner could see where his assets and drivers were relative to their destination.

With the global oil and gas industry recently suffering from low market oil prices, there has never been a better time to manage your company to ensure that you are both profitable and using your assets efficiently.

Geoforce can complement both of these by measuring what you have in the field and working, when the equipment was delivered, how long it has been there and when the equipment was collected. Among numerous benefits, this information is very useful in verifying that monthly invoicing is true and accurate.

Within the last six months we have seen an increase in field operators requesting asset tracking to be supplied as part of the equipment, which has streamlined logistics and operations for both customers and suppliers. We have received positive feedback and requests for more GPS tracking devices.

In standing behind our products I personally use the Geoforce tracking solution on my boat racing adventures (see below) and have put the hardware’s IP water rating to the test on more than one occasion when I have flipped my boat upside down.

This coming August 1st and 2nd you will be able to use Geoforce to follow me down the river in this year’s Avon Descent. This is the world’s longest white water event and if anyone knows how to do a rain dance I would really appreciate a little more water in the river than we have in there right now. I have location reports shared every 5 minutes while on the water so that my service crew and spectators can track my progress via the Geoforce mobile application.

The last year has been fun and challenging as we bring a new solution to the Australian market. We look forward to great success in the future and wish all of our customers the same success.
