View Our Case StudiesEmployee Spotlight: Tim Lapham
Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…
This month’s featured employee is Tim Lapham, our illustrious General Manager for Asia Pacific based in our Melbourne, Australia office.
Q: How long have you been with Geoforce?
A: Just on 16 months.
Q: What do you do at Geoforce?
A: With the support of the other Geoforce teams, I manage our growing business in the Asia Pacific region, with customer deployments for equipment tracking and vehicle tracking in far flung places like Australia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Taiwan, India, and South Korea. I also look after current opportunities presenting themselves across Africa.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?
A: I have a beautiful wife and baby girl on the way (in November), so looking after them is my number one priority. But I do enjoy kitesurfing, cycling, traveling, martial arts, and the odd drop of wine.
Q: If you had to choose your last meal on Earth, what would you eat?
A: I do have a love of Mexican food, so probably a taco and an enchilada washed down with a few liters of margarita.
Q: What is your favorite attribute of Geoforce and why?
A: The people and the passion for what we do. We are lucky to have the leadership and the team we have to keep things exciting for our staff and our customers.
Q: What have you gained from working at Geoforce?
A: To begin to develop an understanding of the Oil and Gas industry and learn from a great team of people, along with traveling to some fantastic new locations like India, Taiwan, and… Houston.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: Mauritius (a small island just east of Madagascar) would be a great place to start, with my kitesurfing gear, family, and a few nice cold beers. Ideally, this would be the location of our company’s next Quarterly Business Review.
