Employee Spotlight: Rebecca Martin

This month we shine the spotlight on Rebecca Martin, the always smiling, motivational quote loving, Jeffersons toy buying, rock star in our Accounting department. Without her green thumb, all the plants in our office would be dead. So obviously we love her. Now you can too…

Kendall: How long have you been working with Geoforce?

Rebecca:  I joined the Geoforce team exactly one year ago and I can’t imagine working anywhere else.

Kendall: What do you do at Geoforce?

Rebecca: I am an Accounts Receivable Specialist and a proud member of the accounting team – aka “The Dream Team”. We manage the financial relationship with our over 800 customers all over the world. It’s fun interacting with such a wide spectrum of customers, from giants like Southwest Airlines and Schlumberger to small trucking companies, and from mining or transportation companies in Australia and Europe to family run businesses in Gainseville, Texas.

Kendall: What are your hobbies outside of work?

Rebecca: In my spare time, I like to read, crochet, embroider, and cook.  I can also be found laying in my pool all summer long.

Kendall: If you had to choose your last meal on Earth, what would you eat and why?

Rebecca: Oh my, how to choose! I would probably have to say a nice steak because it never disappoints.

Kendall: What is your favorite attribute of Geoforce and why?

Rebecca: My favorite attribute of Geoforce is our core values because it’s not just a list of words. Our core values are the true values of the company that we strive to achieve as a team daily.

Kendall: What have you gained from working at Geoforce?

Rebecca: Geoforce is one of those elusive companies where each employee is an important and valued component of the whole. It’s not just all about work. We also care about each other on a personal level. I have gained a healthy work-life balance and also a great work family. This video about our team says it all!

Kendall: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Rebecca: Prince Edward Island. It has been on the top of my bucket list since I was 12 years old when I read “Anne of Green Gables” for the first time.

Kendall: What is something you have always wanted to do but never done?

Rebecca: Skydiving. I think being able to fly through the air would be so invigorating. Alas, it is not meant to be because I have a heart condition and that is one of my few limitations.

Kendall: How would you describe the work environment at Geoforce?

Rebecca: The motivational quote that best describes our office is, “In this office we do teamwork, we do help, we do respect punctuality and laughter. We do friendship, we do coffee and cake. We communicate and listen. We do Motivation. We do GREAT THINGS!” – Unknown
