Employee Spotlight: Nathan Harkey - Geoforce

Employee Spotlight: Nathan Harkey

Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…

This month’s employee spotlight focuses on Nathan Harkey, our Sales Manager for West Texas and New Mexico. Born and raised in the small town of Petersburg, just outside of Lubbock, Nathan is as West Texan as they come.

Q: How long have you been working with Geoforce?

A:  I started February 2013 – so 5 years now.

Q: What do you do at Geoforce?

A: As the Sales Manager for West Texas and New Mexico, I focus on developing new business for us in this region. We have over 150 customers here, primarily in the oil and gas, transportation/logistics, agriculture, and construction industries. And with all the exciting activity in the booming Permian, we will definitely have many more to serve!

Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?

A: Coaching my kid’s baseball team, working on old automobiles and Texas Tech Red Raider sports.

Q: If you were stranded in an airport what would be your 3 must-haves?

A: A pillow, toothpaste and clean clothes!!!

Q: What is your favorite attribute of Geoforce and why?

A: The ability to actually make a difference in people’s business. We provide a Track and Trace solution that, when adopted and used, can make an incredible impact on the success of field operations intensive companies.

Q: What have you gained from working at Geoforce?

A: Besides weight? I would have to say patience. Nothing in the world of technology comes overnight and it’s important to balance what would be nice to have with what is absolutely needed today! We’ve developed some truly innovative things, including the world’s most rugged ATEX/IECEx Zone 0 certified tracking device, the GT1 Global Asset Tracker, and our award winning service verification software solution. They took time to properly develop and meet our customers’ unique demands, but the patience has truly paid off!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

A: Anywhere that I can travel with my family and see new things. I want my kids to have the ability to see different parts of the world. At the moment the top destination I would like to visit and never been is Hawaii. I want to visit Pearl Harbor to see where many of our soldiers lost their lives and changed America forever.
