Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…
Jeffrey and his wife Rachel caught on camera in New Orleans!
This month we speak to our Star Wars loving, NOLA expert, and all around cool guy – Jeffrey Johnson!
Sandra: How long have you been working with Geoforce?
Jeffrey: I’ve been with Geoforce for a year and 3 months, the absolute best year and 3 months I’ve ever spent with a company!
Sandra: What do you do at Geoforce?
Jeffrey: As a Software Product Manager, I interact with a lot of different people in many different roles – it’s one of the reasons I love my job!
My job includes helping define the future of our Track and Trace software product by working with both customers, sales, support, and development. We take that input and turn it into both requirements for development and supporting documentation, as needed. I also handle some coordination and communication with releases of software product.
Sandra: What are your hobbies outside of work?
Jeffrey: I enjoy reading (mostly fiction), collecting comics, and going to a lot of movies – I’m not a genre snob, I love them all. I also play a few select video games and I run an internet radio station. If going to NOLA (editor note – New Orleans, for those not in the know!) can be considered a hobby, I do that too. During football season I also never miss the opportunity to see Allen High School’s football games and watch my daughter march at halftime.
Sandra: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Jeffrey: I’d choose Force powers (from Star Wars), because that’d give me the ability to do a whole lot more than a singular power alone, including perhaps, learning the path to immortality.
Sandra: What is your favorite attribute of Geoforce and why?
Jeffrey: I know it’s somewhat cliché to say, but it’s really the people – from the top down. We’re all working toward a common goal and don’t mind helping each other be successful in our day to day jobs. In return, this helps not just each other but our customers too.
Sandra: What have you gained from working at Geoforce?
Jeffrey: To not take anything for granted. Everyone’s job is important. I came from the healthcare software world where I’d spent 18 years prior. While the end-users are very different at Geoforce, their jobs are no less important – and the jobs they perform and the products they produce or transport (with our products helping) in turn make our lives easier and more fulfilling too. It’s a nice circle of life moment.
Sandra: What is your favorite family tradition during the Thanksgiving holiday?
Jeffrey: We usually eat “Thanksgiving Lunch” instead of Thanksgiving Dinner because come 3 PM we’re all watching the Dallas Cowboys, and not even turkey and dressing should interrupt that. Pie does interrupt that, but it’s easy to eat while watching the game! My mom still doesn’t know all of the rules of football, so explaining what’s happening is part of the fun.
