Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…
As Geoforce grows, so do our technology platforms and capabilities
It’s fun being part of a software development team for a company that is doubling in size every year and is in a hot space. But growth brings challenges: ensuring that solutions are stable and scalable, and that our users’ experience remains first rate. Maintaining customer satisfaction as we grow is crucial to Geoforce. First thing every Monday, our weekly “Stand Up” meeting starts with the reports on user experience. Before we talk about anything else, we report to the entire company on system uptime, response rates, and other PKIs important to users. We have specific targets for each metric and report on them constantly.
That emphasis on customer satisfaction demands that we constantly look for ideas to make our platforms better, faster and smarter. Recently, our growing development team attended the Big Ruby Conference in Grapevine, Texas, which centered on leveraging Ruby on Rails (Geoforce’s primary software technology) to support enterprise applications at scale. We were educated at the conference and are looking forward to incorporating some of those ideas in the future. We also learned that we’re doing a lot right at Geoforce. Next year, we expect that our developers will be presenting at Big Ruby – showing off how Geoforce supports massive global traceability, and asset velocity initiatives within Oil & Gas. Today, major Oil & Gas companies are rapidly expanding their track and trace systems using GPS tracking to locate oilfield assets domestically and internationally, both onshore and offshore. Geoforce is supporting that acceleration, helping with everything from tracking frac tanks to CCUs and baskets on six continents. (We’ll get to Antarctica someday we think!) And given that we are growing so rapidly, if you’re interested in a Ruby development or operations role at Geoforce (or know someone who might be), we are always hiring.
