A Look Back at 2015

Can you afford to lose visibility of this cargo’s location? For an hour? For a day? For a week? Of course, we all know the answer already: losing visibility into critical assets can mean losing even more: money, time, productivity, safety, sanity…

This has been a year of innovation, growth and new markets for Geoforce. With the year coming to a close, we wanted to take the opportunity to revisit the highlights as well as share a little of what we are looking forward to in 2016.

Oil and Gas companies are beginning to adapt to the “lower for longer” world. We blogged several times this year about companies taking this opportunity to become more efficient. Geoforce has been a big part of that story – helping our customers to increase asset utilization, reduce downtime, and become more operationally sound. It has certainly been a challenging time for the industry, but those that have been through cycles before know that now is the time that innovations are implemented by tomorrow s industry leaders.

We have also been busy helping companies outside of Oil and Gas markets become more efficient, including renewables / wind energy in Europe with our partner Your Global Solution (YGS), mining operations in Australia with Equipment Technology Services (ETS), and agricultural service companies in the United States such as Agriland and Farmers Equipment Co. As it turns out, the oil patch is not the only place where field operations can be chaotic!

On the software side, we’ve launched some exciting new tools and capabilities for our users. The latest release of Track and Trace features a new events module that centralizes all of the rules and notifications – a big benefit for large fleet managers. Through the use of our recently launched mobile field tools, we have made it easier to deploy and manage GPS devices such as the GT1 Global Asset Tracker, which is the first and only device with Bluetooth interface that works with mobile phones.

This year, we built out our field services organization to help our customers take the hassle out of deploying GPS devices and provide local, hands-on customer support in the regions that our customers operate. We’ve always believed in getting our hands dirty and this is the latest example of that philosophy. Frankly, it’s one of the ways that Geoforce is different than traditional technology companies – we love to roll up our sleeves and work directly in the field with our customers.

Geoforce has big plans for 2016. And we’re doing it on a global scale. We expect another year of continued growth for our international operations. As always, we are focusing on solving problems that matter to our customers such as offering an advanced fleet management solution with Hours of Service (HOS) capability to help those required to comply with recent US DOT mandates. We’ll also be launching our next generation GT1 Global Asset Tracker and GT0 Compact Asset Tracker. Each has improved functionality and features that set the industry standard. So be on the look-out for these and many more innovations from Geoforce next year.

On behalf of everyone at Geoforce, we wish all of our customers, partners, and other readers a prosperous and happy 2016!
